If you really want Senator Obama, but have at least a somewhat positive view of John McCain compared to the other Republican candidates, and are tired of all the lies, distortion, arrogance, dirty tactics, and negativity of the Clintons and their cronies, then please read on. If you agree with my reasoning, and want to send a strong message to the Democratic Party and to the nation, then please sign the petition at the bottom of this page, and...

The name of this site is intended as a play on words in three ways:
- I intend to "raise Cain" regarding the Democratic nomination for president of the United States.
- I intend to "raise McCain" in terms of his vote count, should he be nominated and facing Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee.
- I intend to "raise McCain" as if in a poker game - that is, up the stakes. He has put himself forth as a man of honor, and I accept that. I am declaring that I will pledge to vote for him should he face Hillary Clinton, if he remains true to those aspects of his conduct that have led myself and others to accept him as a man of honor. These entail continuing to disagree with the Republican establishment on a host of issues, such as campaign finance reform, global warming, and handling of the Iraq war, as well as continuing to conduct a positive campaign throughout the 2008 race. His history as a veteran who became a prisoner of war and did not betray his fellow comrades even under torture is a fact of record, and therefore cannot change. This forms a fine base for judging Senator McCain's character, but character itself is a continuous thing, and it is therefore possible to betray an honorable past with dishonorable actions. So I will be paying attention.
If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, or if Senator McCain does something foolish which would contradict his honorable appearance to date, then I suppose we'll all have to make our own individual choices on what is best to do in that event. Speaking for myself, I will either vote for a third party candidate, write in someone, or abstain altogether. But meanwhile...
We have hope (and it's not a false hope either, Hillary)!
We can still vote for Barack Obama in the Democratic primaries and caucuses. Barack Obama has a very viable shot at capturing the nomination, and it depends on YOU to keep it that way, and to get him
all the way.
