What About Phony Signatures?

You've gotta love log files and web statistics programs, and all the little facts they can collect. You can tell where a visitor came from, what their IP adddress is, what browser they're using, etc. If there are any smart-alecs among us, we'll ferret them out.

And besides, even if I get some Republicans trying to make trouble by attempting to masquerade as Democrats - fine. Although I cannot collect stats about intent, my inability to spot these guys works to our advantage. If they want to help me get Barack Obama nominated, who will be the best candidate to defeat ANY of theirs, I'm happy to give them enough rope to hang themselves with, figuratively speaking.

I have to admit that I'm kinda rooting for a rabid Clinton supporter to try and take me down with a denial-of-service attack or something like that, just so I and my host have a chance at linking it back to them. Will the Clinton campaign stop at electronic mischief? We'll see. :)

At some point, I will attempt to filter the petition database down to eliminate phonies, smartass commentators, and the like. I will post the results to date once the party nominations are a done deal, but I will not remove the petition itself. I will then post further results right before Election Day if Hillary Clinton and John McCain are the nominees.
